It had received so many bad reviews. That is why it is on sale @ $91. Either I am lucky, or OCZ has fixed the QA problem. My set not only runs @1600MHz, 7-7-7-24 as sepc. also at least 1866MHz, 8-8-8-24, @1.64v, in ASUS P6t delux. it passes memtest86+ as well as 3D and PC vantage. My guess is that OCZ overly fixed it. I think the price of DDR3 at this speed should be close to the bottom. SO buy it if you need or even just for fun. BTW, the OCZ's net-like heatsink performs better than common heat spread. I checked its temparature between heatsink and memory chips during memtest86+ @1866MHz, just 46c.

The memory itself is fine; I bought 2 x 6gb packages from another vendor in 5/09 and it all worked fine (passed memtest). In 6/09, I got two more of the same from amazon, but 4 of the 6 2gb sticks in total were bad. They sent me a replacement package, and at least 2 of the 6 sticks were bad so I just returned all of it and bought it from the other vendor again instead of amazon. The odds of this happening by chance are not good, so I wouldn't buy this from amazon again (and yes, I'm writing this review because I'm annoyed that my time has been wasted).

Memory was put in to a 7i computer. No problems and I am not going to clock this computer.

This memory is labeled as 1600mHz CL 7-7-7-24. This is (intentionally?) misleading. The label should read 1600mHz CL 9-9-9-24, because if you check the SPD settings in BIOS or a program like CPU-Z, you'll see that if you run this memory at 1600mHz those are the actual timings you really get (no XMS support). Which is basically what every basic DDR3 memory can run at these days.

In order to get the advertised 7-7-7-24 timings you have to run the memory at 1066mHz. So you can get 1600mHz speed *OR* 7-7-7-24 latency, but not both at the same time as might be assumed from the label. Very lame, and very disappointing. Memory runs fine otherwise.

However, since I can't trust OCZ to accurately label their memory, I am returning this and will never buy OCZ again. Stick to a more honest memory manufacturer like Corsair, Crucial, Micron, or Kingston.
