We at Hackers for kindness hackersorcharity.org accept financial donations (or your ancient gear which water supply sell) for use in notebook classrooms in some of the worlds poorest countries. It may seem odd to deploy notebook classrooms to areas where children often go without food, but these classrooms are part of a larger initiative. AOET (the organization we focus on) supplies food, shelter, medical care, culture and training to the worlds most vulnerable citizens. Flush in the worlds most remote areas, notebook skills (mainly word processing) provide an exceptionally viable source of sustainable income. By providing relevant, marketable skills training, students are empowered, providing them with a bright prospect in which they can support themselves and their families without the need for charitable handouts. To with the intention of end, we are dedicated to building notebook training centers in East Africa. So far, we have built four classrooms: two in Webuye, Kenya, one at St. John’s Wakitaka in the Wakitaka constituency of Uganda and one at Rehaboth Secondary School in the Bugembe constituency of Uganda.
